Chuck is Professor Emeritus at Virginia Commonwealth Univeristy. His PhD is in epidemiology from the University of Missouri and had served as Editor in Chief of the AANA Journal for many years, stepping down from that role in 2023. He is currently a content creator and editor for APEX Anesthesia, a division of TrueLearn. His research interests have been in the broad domain of hospital patient safety. He has an extensive list of peer-reviewed publications and is the sole author of the textbook, Evidence Trumps Belief: Nurse Anesthetists and Evidence Based Decision Making, which he is currently working on its 3rd edition.
