Laura L. Ardizzone is the director of Nurse Anesthesia Services at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and a member of the Executive Nursing Leadership team. Her previous roles include Assistant Clinical Professor of Nursing and Director of Clinical Education at Columbia University School of Nursing.
Laura received her BSN from the University of Pennsylvania and her Master’s and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from Columbia University and an MBA from Cornell University. She also completed a post-doctoral clinical fellowship at Columbia University School of Nursing.
Laura completed two terms as a member of the patient safety steering committee of the National Quality Forum, is a past President of the Columbia University School of Nursing Alumni Board and currently a member of the Board of Visitors for Columbia University which advises the Dean on Strategic Initiatives. She is a fellow of both the New York Academy of Medicine and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Laura is the recipient of the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Medal from Columbia University and was the Distinguished Student Speaker at Cornell MBA 2024 commencement. She serves on the editorial board for various anesthesia journals and has lectured nationally and internationally on a variety of clinical anesthesia topics. Laura also has an interest in global health and has worked with The Carter Foundation on projects for peri-anesthesia and clinical education in Sudan and Nigeria.
