I have been a pediatric anesthetist for 18 years and the Director of Anesthesia at Children's of Alabama for almost 5 years. Before anesthesia school, I was a neonatal intensive care nurse. I have always had a passion for pediatrics and love taking care of such a vulnerable patient population. I also love the adaptability and unpredictability of working with children.
I am the immediate past president of the Alabama Association of Nurse Anesthetists (ALANA) and I am also the State Government Affairs Chair for our association. I have been involved with our state board in some form for over 9 years and I believe that being involved in your state and federal affairs is critical to our profession!
