Mrs. Cara Medlin is a second year nurse anesthesia student attending Duke University's School of Nursing. She graduated with her BSN from East Carolina University in 2021 and shortly after began her nursing career in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. Upon initiation of her journey to becoming a CRNA, Mrs. Medlin has found a passion in reducing health disparities with a specific focus on obstetric care and maternal health. Cara's doctoral project is an innovative exploration into multidisciplinary obstetric crisis simulation, aiming to enhance preparedness and improve outcomes for diverse patient populations. She believes in the transformative power of inclusive and culturally competent healthcare practices.
