Dr. Nancy Sweet-Fitzgibbon, DNAP, APRN-CRNA, CHSE, is the Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program at the Oxley College of Health and Natural Sciences, University of Tulsa. With over 30 years of experience in nursing, anesthesia, and education, she holds a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice from Texas Wesleyan University, a Master of Science in Nursing from the US Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing/University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UCLA.
Dr. Sweet-Fitzgibbon's extensive career includes serving as Clinical Associate Professor and Assistant Program Director for the Nurse Anesthesia DNP Program at the University of Tulsa. She has also been the Deputy Clinical Site Director for the US Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing and Program Director of the Anesthesia Technology Program at OKC Community College. As a former Major in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, she has earned multiple military commendations.
In her role as Director, Dr. Sweet-Fitzgibbon focuses on enhancing academic rigor and expanding research opportunities while fostering a supportive environment for students and faculty. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the Oklahoma Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
