Julie Brightwell has extensive experience in the medical professional liability insurance industry with risk management and patient safety consulting for healthcare facilities and clinical practices. Ms. Brightwell earned her law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law. She also completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Certificate of Nurse Anesthesia.
Before joining The Doctors Company, her experience included surgical intensive care nursing, nurse anesthesia, and healthcare law practice. Ms. Brightwell has served as an adjunct faculty member on healthcare law issues for a college of nursing and a legal nurse consultant program. She has earned the Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) designation, the Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) designation, and is a certified Master Trainer for TeamSTEPPS®.
