Jennifer Ross Majumdar, PhD, CRNA is the Assistant Specialty Director of the Nurse Anesthesia DNP Program at Hunter College, City University of New York, and a Nurse Scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). She began her career at MSK in 2015 as a practicing CRNA and transitioned into a research role in 2022. Prior to that, she practiced with Anesthesia Associates of Massachusetts and served as clinical faculty for the Boston College Nurse Anesthesia Program. She holds a PhD in Nursing from The Catholic University of America, an MSN in Nurse Anesthesia from Boston College, and a BSN from Washington State University.
Dr. Majumdar’s program of research focuses on perioperative symptom management, particularly in patients undergoing outpatient cancer surgery. Her grant-funded studies have explored interventions to reduce anxiety, pain, and postoperative complications—leveraging mindfulness, enhanced recovery protocols, and technology-based supports for patients and caregivers.
She is a frequent podium presenter at national meetings including the AANA Annual Congress, ADCE, and the Oncology Nursing Society Congress. Her work has been published in leading journals such as the AANA Journal, Oncology Nursing Forum, and Journal of PeriAnesthesia Nursing. Dr. Majumdar currently serves as Managing Editor of the Journal of Nurse Anesthesia Education and reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. Nationally, she was appointed to the AANA Membership Committee and the inaugural AANA Educator Podcast Steering Committee and is a founding Chair of the AANA Foundation’s Pain Research Interest Group. At the state level, she is Co-Chair of the NYSANA Educational Program Committee and an elected member of the Nominating Committee. Through her clinical practice, research, and professional service, Dr. Majumdar is committed to advancing evidence-based anesthesia care, CRNA education, and the future of the profession.
