Nicole “Nickie” Damico, PhD, CRNA, FAANA, CHSE is an Associate Professor and the Herbert T. Watson Endowed Chairperson of the Department of Nurse Anesthesia, where she oversees the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice and the Master of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion programs. She practices as a CRNA at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, VA. Dr. Damico’s research interests include mechanical ventilation in the anesthetized patient and the use of AI in nurse anesthesia education. She is co-founder of the Department’s Anesthesia eNonymous platform, a website devoted to promoting anesthesia patient safety.
